Here are some of my new favorite pictures of Jon Milledge playing ball. Unfortunately, I can't take credit for taking these....there is a dad on the team with one of those fancy smancy cameras and he takes pics at each tournament and then shares them with the rest of us. How nice, huh??

Guess what this is? Give up? Ok....I'll tell you. This is the ball that Jon Milledge launched over the fence while I was in New Orleans! Yep...he hit his first ever homerun when I wasn't there. Can you believe the nerve? Just kidding, I was so proud of him and got to hear all about it via Milledge calling me, my friends texting me and Jon Milledge giving me the play by play later that night!

I had a wonderful time in The Big Easy and did so many fun things. Here are a few...

Enjoyed the Mighty Mississippi

Had a shrimp Po'Boy on the Mississippi

Rode the St. Charles Streetcar

Ate enough cajun/spicy shrimp to last me awhile

Had a Pat O'Brien Hurricane

Went past the Superdome...several times

Explored the French Quarter

Made lots of memories with my co-workers!

Received an education on Bourbon Street that I'm not sure I was prepared for! ;)

Yikes...a little scary!

Ate beignets at Cafe du Monde....yummy!

Saw some very unusual cemeteries

Saw some very beautiful churches

Toured the Lower 9th Ward...please keep praying for this neighborhood and its people as they continue to rebuild.

.....and the best part...I met and spent a whole evening with Kelly! We had the best time getting to know each other! Love ya, girl! Can't wait for our red couch pics at The White Swan in China!!! :)

29 Months and Counting......

“Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow - that is patience.”

If nothing else, I think we have learned patience during our wait for Ruthie. The "going" is definitely hard and slow but we have kept going month after month. Hopefully one day we can look back at all of this and know exactly why we waited so long and also be thankful for the lessons learned. Right now.....I just want my baby to come home.
