Prayers for Monnie....

I was at a baseball tournament today when my sister called to tell me that my mother had been in a pretty bad car accident. A teenager ran a red light and plowed into the driver's side of my mother's car. She couldn't get out of the driver's door so she got out with the assistance of a very nice man through the passenger side. She has some broken ribs, a cut on her elbow, a very swollen knee and various other bumps, bruises, aches and pains. She is at home but in lots of pain AND they are going to total her car. UGHH! If you don't mind, please add her to your prayer list as I know she will be hurting even more tomorrow. Also, remember the little girl that hit her...my mother said that she was physically fine but VERY upset.
Even though I only live about an hour from my home town, it is at times like this that I wish I was closer.

Easter Bunny??

This is the conversation that took place between me and my boys recently about the Easter Bunny. We have never really made a big deal about the Easter Bunny even though they have always received baskets. I guess I just have a much harder time pretending to be a rabbit that hops into peoples homes instead of the great jolly ole elf who comes down the chimney! For some reason I think that one is much easier to believe??! :)

Jon Milledge: Mama is the Easter Bunny real?
Me: Ok...let's think about this for a minute. Do you really think there is a big bunny that hops around and goes in homes to leave treats?
Jon Milledge: No, I really don't but I was just making sure. I was thinking that it was all a little silly.
Anderson: Well....I bet I know who the Easter Bunny is then.
Me: Really? Who?
Anderson: SANTA CLAUS!!!!!!!
Me: I think you are exactly right!

You just got to love children and the things they say! Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

My Little Babe

This article was on the front page of our local paper last week. Anderson had told me that he thought he was going to be in the paper but I had no idea that he was going to be on the front page AND that they were going to compare him to Babe Ruth! His class had to do a book report on a biography of a famous American and Anderson chose Babe Ruth. After presenting their reports and projects to the class one week, the next week they made a living museum in a small hallway at their school for other classes, parents and grandparents to come see. They each made a name plate, with lots of information about what made their person famous, that was placed above their heads and they struck poses and remained very still like statues while people were walking past to see them. It was so cute!
Needless to say, I purchased lots of copies of this paper and one of them is at the frame shop being framed for Anderson's room. I mean it's not everyday that a little boy gets compared to one of his heros!

Ladybug Reunion! Post #1

Leslie and Me

Me and sweet Lily
Mine and Leslie's Babies

What a wonderful weekend we just had! I have met so many wonderful people through our adoption process and was able to meet in person one of those families this past weekend. I have talked to Leslie on the phone for about a year now and couldn't wait to meet her and her sweet family in the mountains of Tennessee last week! We had a blast! I am now at home sick so I will post more pictures when I feel better and can stay out of bed for more than a few minutes at a time but I wanted to post a couple and to let Leslie, Larry, Ella and Lily know we had a GREAT time and thank them for being such wonderful friends!

16 Months....

I thought this was an appropriate picture to recognize our 16 months of waiting for Ruthie. It is appropriate because spring has sprung here in the deep south and my boys are full speed ahead into baseball. Yesterday was the first day in over two weeks that I didn't have something baseball related to do but never fear, we have plenty to do this weekend! Actually, we love being at the ballfield and we are very glad to have our boys keeping us extremely busy during this wait. Poor Ruthie is going to be a ballfield baby immediately upon arriving home....hopefully, she will love it or at least learn to like it! :)

I have been so crazy with running my baseball shuttle bus that I haven't had time to check in on all of my blogging buddies in over a week. I plan on catching up this weekend. I can't wait to see what all of you have been up to! I've missed you all!
