Let me preface this post with a couple of things and a disclaimer. Jon Milledge is now in the 6th grade and apparently the whole "going out" with someone thing has started. This completely cracks me up because first of all, where are they going to go?? and secondly, once they are "going out" with someone, who was probably their friend yesterday, they quit talking. So silly...but I remember being a silly 6th grader once too.
Now to the disclaimer....Milledge and I do not support nor condone Jon Milledge going on a date or having his first kiss before he is 31 and 1/2!
Ok now on to the post!
Jon Milledge had his two best buddies over last night to spend the night and to go to a concert with our church youth group. They had a great time and then stayed up until the wee hours of the morning having some sort of X-Box tournament.....basically a night full of boy stuff.
Below is the conversation that took place over breakfast this morning with me, Milledge and the three boys.
J.L.~Ross and Alyssa are going out....I wonder if he is going to get his first kiss?
Ross~Ummm...I did last night.
Me~(with a horrified look) ROSSSSSS!??
Ross~HAHAHAHAHAHA!! I'm just kidding!
Me~Ross what in the world would your mother do if you told her you kissed a girl?
Ross~I don't know, probably be mad.
J.L.~ I don't think my mother would be mad but we would probably have to have a talk.
Jon Milledge~If I came home and told my mother that I had gotten my first kiss, she would load me up, take me back to wherever we were and make us do it over so that she could take a picture and blog about it!!
Milledge~(insert hysterical laughter)I think you are probably right Jon Milledge!!
Me~Am I really that bad? Just don't kiss any girls and you won't have to worry about that!!
I am so not ready for any of this but I am glad that they still think we are "cool" enough to talk to and hopefully that will last for several more years! Honestly though....am I really that bad??!

I LOVE IT!!!! That is a good sense of humor on that boy!! We have started down the baseball road! You might have to "talk" me through it!!!
I just about lost bladder control on that one!!! It is 10:30 and everyone is asleep and I am in the den laughing my head off! You are right about keeping that openess there for as long as you can. I don't think you have ANYTHING to worry about though... he is going to be forever looking over his shoulder for you with a camera when he is not with you!
Uncle Matt
Ha!Ha!Ha! That just cracked me up!!!
Amanda is in the 6th grade also, and has talked about friends of hers that are "going out". I agree with you...going where??? The whole thing is just funny!
Oh...and I told her the same thing you told Jon Milledge...no kissing until she's at least 30!!! :)
(And yes, we're probably "that bad") :)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That is halarious! I am about to die over here! My dad also ask where people are going! lol I personally think its CRAZY to kiss while you are in Middle School or even 9th grade, but you know! lol Well I don't think you are that crazy! Love you!
That is HILARIOUS!!!!!! I am that bad too. Trust me. :-)
LOL!!! That's great! No, you can't be THAT bad, like you said earlier, you went over a week without reporting anything!
Angie - don't you think we are allllll that bad??? I am about to post about Hannah's new Chandler Bing smile because she goes on autopilot when the camera comes out, yes, Virginia, we are all that bad:)
SO funny - you gave me a smile today - I have a vicious migraine and I pinched a nerve in my back...needless to say, the smile did me good:)

Angie, I'm accused of those things all the time, too. Everytime something funny or interesting happens, I seem to evaluate it for blog-content! THAT was a great post, and I'm all with you...NOT ready for any of this talk, but glad that they (my kids too) are fine to talk it out in front of us.
How funny is that!!! I love it!
I can so relate to that whole going out thing! I just don't get it!
That was a priceless conversation about a first kiss. So funny!
Hey, girl! Thought maybe I'd catch up with you here. too funny about Jon Milledge! Your blog has changed a lot since I visited last. I completely understand his comment!! The blog is beautiful. Drop me a line when you have a minute.

This post made me laugh out loud! :-) That is just hilarious.
Too funny! Unfortunately, my 5th grader is starting to talk about girls. Its kind of cute but I also miss my little boy. They grow up way too fast. Loved the post!
Too funny, at least he's a good sport about it! Is it me or do kids start the whole "liking" boys/girls thing earlier these days?
ANG!!!
I knew there had to be some other bloggers out there... no surprise to me that it is you - great friends think alike! (no matter how far apart they now live!)
Oh, this post gave me great pause, and a great giggle or two! First I thought, kissing in the 6th grade?! THEN I thought back, and laughed out loud - we all were just like your boys then! TOO much! Seems so far away, yet like just yesterday friend.... thank goodness our Momma's didn't have a place to BLOG! Or, now I wish they had - I'd LOVE to read it.
Of course you may link to me... may I link to you?!
And, I agree with another post too - joining FB has put a whammy on the time I had to blog!!!
I see you are adopting! That is so wonderful... I am so excited and proud for yall... can't wait to hear all about her!
Let's get together soon and catch up in person! I see your Momma on occasion - she looks great!
